5 Top Tips For Winter Golf

Just because the weather’s on the turn doesn’t mean you have to put your pitch markers away and hang up your golf clubs for the year… in fact, quite the opposite!

Winter golf can be just as much fun as your spring and summer sporting endeavours, but you may need to be a bit more prepared.

So, with that in mind, here are a couple of top tips for golfing glory over the next few months from the team here at Adox Sportswear. Happy putting!

#1 Layer up

As the colder weather starts to set in, you’re going to want to make sure you stay nice and warm on the green. Wear several layers of clothes so you can take them on or off depending on how you’re feeling. And don’t forget to pack a waterproof just in case.

#2 Keep your golf balls warm

Wondering why your hits aren’t going as far as you expect them to? It could be because your golf balls are warm. Keep them in your pocket as you go around the course, as warm balls fly further than cold ones will.

#3 Pack extra gloves

There’s nothing worse than trying to play golf when your gloves are soaked through, so pack some extras as backup and store them in a plastic bag to keep the rain away.

#4 Warm up properly

Don’t head to the course and hit your first tee shot before warming up, as you put yourself at risk of injury. Instead, do some stretches to warm up and perhaps spend a bit of time at the range before really getting into the game.

#5 Book a golf trip

Don’t fancy playing in the wind, rain, sleet and snow? You don’t have to! Going on a golfing holiday somewhere warm like California, Spain, the Canary Islands or Dubai will give you all the winter sun you need to enjoy your sport in comfort and style.
